Selling my 1997 BMW Z3 1. 9L M44 as a project car. I bought this Z3 in Nov 2025 and since then have replaced the wheels and tyres (full set of kuhmo tyres with ~2k miles), as well as doing minor repair work throughout. However, with its MOT due next month, it is going to be more of a project than I have the space for. The car is the M44 1. 9L, which I have loved driving due to its light weight and handling. Engine revs well and brakes look in really good condition with no lip on the discs, and decent looking pads. The bad bits; Most importantly this car will need welding. Its inner sills are very rusted and I don’t believe it will pass an MOT without some work. Secondly, there are several holes in the exhaust system that probably warrant a cat-back replacement. The arches are beginning to rust, and it could also do with a new roof. There are a few other smaller issues but nothing that can’t be fixed, and nothing you wouldn’t expect on a car nearing 30 years old!I loved this car, and would love for it to go to someone who could do right by it.
