1959 Porsche-Diesel Super 308 L – Professionally Restored
An impressive example of one of Porsche-Diesel’s most desirable vintage tractors, this 1959 Super 308 L combines distinctive Porsche engineering with a beautifully refined restoration.
The Super 308 L is the long-wheelbase version of the model and is powered by a 2, 467cc air-cooled three-cylinder diesel engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The tractor starts readily, runs smoothly, drives well, and presents in excellent overall condition.
Its restoration included mechanical refurbishment and a complete repaint. The paintwork has since been professionally renewed and carefully detailed, with particular attention given to the finish, consistency, and overall presentation. This additional specialist work has raised the quality of the restoration to a noticeably higher standard.
A complete set of new tyres has also been installed, greatly improving both the appearance and usability of the tractor.
The tractor is finished in the traditional Porsche-Diesel red with cream-painted steel wheels and contrasting red hubs. Details include the Porsche-Diesel bonnet emblem, front and rear lighting, rear half-fenders, spring-mounted driver’s seat, passenger backrest, rear drawbar, front PTO shaft, and dual rear PTO shafts.
Further equipment includes independent rear drum brakes, a rear portal axle, dashboard instrumentation, hand throttle, lighting controls, and front and rear attachment points. The dashboard houses a speedometer, engine-hour meter, temperature gauge, warning lights, and ignition and starting controls.
Its combination of rarity, mechanical simplicity, strong condition, and unmistakable Porsche styling makes it ideal for a serious Porsche collection, private museum, showroom, prestigious agricultural collection, or classic vehicle enthusiast.
The tractor is located in Italy. Assistance with transport throughout Europe or internationally can be arranged. This Porsche-Diesel Super 308 L is a special example of design, strong engineering, and its special place in Porsche’s industrial history.
What makes it stand out is the combination of the long-wheelbase configuration, the three-cylinder air-cooled diesel engine, and the unmistakable Porsche-Diesel styling. It has a strong visual presence and is equally appealing as a functional vintage tractor or as a collector’s display piece.
The tractor has undergone mechanical restoration, a renewed paint finish, specialized detailing, and the installation of new tyres. Particular attention was given to improving the consistency, depth, and overall quality of the exterior finish, resulting in a more refined presentation.
My favourite aspect is the balance between its agricultural character and its Porsche identity. It remains a genuine working machine, while also being an unusual and highly decorative piece for a private collection, showroom, museum, or Porsche-focused environment.
