Would really like to sell. Perfect for the enthusiast new to retro/ modern classics. A lovely car to put your stamp on. Finish it and tell your mates you restored a classic. I will spend half day on interior to really bring it up. Underside is solid and I'll be giving it a good wire brushing and undersealing the whole underside with Lanogard spray and grease prior to sale.
This genuine one owner car has a unique history, the story is amazing. Purchased brand new by the sales manager at a Ford main dealers, for his wife who only ever travelled locally as a District Nurse for the next 18 years. The car was serviced and maintained at the Ford dealership under her ownership. I have added two photos of the car during it's time SORN, for interest.
Completely mechanically recommissioned under my ownership with paint/ body repairs the car presented at the Festival of The Unexceptional (the FoTU is one of the best classic retro car shows and features everyday cars from the 70s-00s) at the end of July. Driven for the first ever time only a few weeks ago when I took the car along to Cadwell Park racing circuit, also it's first ever drive on any motorway. I have now covered over 600 miles. This is a genuine, extremely rare one owner resurrection vehicle with great provenance and this is a one off opportunity to own one of the last complete and original Focus LXs still remaining. Motorways are no problem in the car, it literally eats up the miles on the motorway despite never being motorway driven. This car will happily serve you as daily transport and is the perfect modern retro classic car. Take it to meets and shows such as the FoTU, talk to focus fans, this could be a definite concourse contender with very little effort. The Focus mk1 is recognised and generates genuine passion and interest. Conversations can be varied as so many people once owned one, and so many Focus's were on the roads originally. Yes this one is now almost 25 years old, and like any older vehicle will benefit from further improvement/ care to keep it in the great condition you see here or take it to the next level.
The 1. 6 Litre fuel injected 16v Zetec petrol engine sounds sweet, exactly as you would expect from a 45000 mile, full history one owner, main dealer maintained car such as this. It starts immediately on the first turn and effortlessly keeps up with even on today's busy roads.
The interior is immaculate and exactly as it left the factory.
Everything in the car works as intended, electric windows, electric boot release, fast-clear heated front screen, CD/ Radio with six fantastic sounding speakers, heater controls etc. Even both the 12v power sockets are working, and still have their little covers, no cigarette lighter or ashtray in site. The sole owner was a non-smoker.
The next owners could isolate and find the leak in the air conditioning system as I did a re-gas and everything worked as expected for a couple of days, blew lovely and cold but gradually the gas escaped. The compressor/ pump/ fan/ switch circuit are all completely functional.

ALL major mechanical components have been replaced during recommissioning, a comprehensive list is available including full service, all fluids and filters, fresh spark plugs and leads, brakes fully overhauled using premium brake pads, discs and sliders front, premium linings rear, timing belt kit, water pump, rear screenwash pump and in-tank fuel pump, steering and suspension bushing, brand new front control arms, brand new tyres-front, brand new FRONT SUBFRAME cross member, new electric window motor-near side, brand new alternator and a brand new battery. A pair of brand new quality front shock absorbers are going to be fitted prior to sale to tighten up the handling. Both rear sills have been professionally repaired-welded, the nearside also professionally painted to a very high standard, along with paint to nearside front door, rear door and wheel arch plus the corner of the rear bumper where the car had repeatedly caught the gate and/ or post while being parked.
All receipts and invoices for all works carried out by a qualified and fastidious mechanic are available and will be supplied on request. Works and parts are warrantied.
Car now wants for nothing mechanical, but does require a wire brush and clear underseal before winter which will be completed. Minor bubbling on the offside rear arch only into the repaired sill, which I would remedy before the next MOT, due at the end of April 2027.
The car has been thoroughly cleaned and presents itself very well. A further valet, deep clean of seats/ upholstery/ carpet including the engine bay will be taken care of.

Rarely are they offered with such low miles and such interesting, guaranteed provenance. Find another Focus MK1 that is Ford main dealer serviced and Sales Manager's wife owned AND never ever driven on a motorway or left the supplying dealers family. UNIQUE. TOTALLY ORIGINAL. Drives exactly like a 3 year old car. Needs to be driven. No offers considered without test drive. As the previous owner has been very generous with providing many details of her car's history verbally, I am confident she may also be able to supply the book pack, spare keys and service history. I have given her time to locate, and we are still in regular contact. There are more details around the car's history and story which I will share with the buyer.
This Focus was the only one offered for sale at the recent FoTU Forecourt, see the latest photos for confirmation of attendance and how the car presented. It genuinely is a car that many people want to look round, sit in and talk about. If you want to attend shows with something easy to live with that easily keeps up with modern traffic and that polishes up beautifully this could well be the car for you. Looks absolutely stunning in the Metropolis (NOT Imperial) metallic blue and the superb condition original specification alloy wheels have had a deep clean, as no refurbishment was needed. One wheel centre cap is missing which I will endeavour to source and replace before selling.
The original roof mount radio aerial was detached during recommissioning and it is with the car.
Specifics.
The steering wheel is as new, is lovely and extremely rare with no delamination or worn areas. Exactly as it was when the car left the Ford factory in 2002. See photos.
The seats are firm, clean and fabric has absolutely no tears and there is no bolster wear on the driver's seat or anywhere. The only seat that has regularly been sat in is the drivers seat and it shows. Immaculate, comfortable and attractively trimmed, the interior even still has a new car smell. Externally it retains a gleaming fresh appearance with the stunning Metropolis (NOT Imperial) Blue metallic paintwork being one of the best colours and it really sets it's sharp looks off. It will be very hard to find another MK1 Focus LX in this colour and condition.
Locking wheel nut is present as is the original CD/ Radio key code document.
A V5 is present as is the most recent MOT document, and all previous MOT history is detailed on line.
Invoices for all mechanical works are available electronically and includes the welding carried out for the current MOT.
