After a hugely enjoyable day showing this exceptional Ford Focus at the Festival of the Unexceptional on the FOTU Forecourt yesterday, to follow up the many views, enquiries and conversations the car is now offered here. The car, owned by me for the last 15 months but only driven twice to date since recommissioning behaved faultlessly on the 200 mile round trip yesterday. It is a genuine one owner vehicle with great provenance and this is a one off opportunity to own one of the best Focus LXs remaining. Motorways are no problem in a car as well sorted as this, it literally ate up the miles yesterday. Will happily serve you as daily transport for years to come and is perfect for the modern retro classic meets and shows such as FOTU, where the Focus is a car that generates genuine passion and interesting conversations as so many were on the roads originally. Yes it is now 24 years old, and like any older vehicle will need further maintenance and improvement to keep it in the excellent condition you see here. The engine is an absolute peach. The interior is exactly as it left the factory. Everything in the car works as intended, electric windows, electric boot release, fast-clear heated front screen, CD/ Radio with six fantastic sounding speakers, heater controls etc. (the exception is the air con so there is the next owners first little job). I did a re-gas and it all worked as expected for a couple of days, lovely and cold so the gas escaped but the compressor/ pump were functional. Local car to Huddersfield, never motorway driven, used solely as a work vehicle by a health professional until their retirement in 2020 at which point stored, hard standing and SORN for exactly 5 years. All major components have been replaced during recommissioning, comprehensive list is available including full service, all fluids and filters, brakes, belts, water, screen and fuel pumps steering and suspension bushing, tyres, brand new front subframe cross member both rear sills professionally welded, and paint to nearside just where the car had caught the gate a few times while being parked. Wants for nothing, except perhaps a wire brush and clear underseal before winter for the next owner to apply. If I was being really picky I would point out the slightest of bubbling on one rear arch, which I would remedy before the next MOT, due end of April 2027. The car has been thoroughly cleaned and presents itself extremely well. A further deep clean of seats/ upholstery/ carpets and complete detailing including the engine bay can be carried out for the next owner at the advertised price, should this be required. I appreciate that an interest was expressed for the cars condition to be left as it currently is and buyer take it to the next level. That is not a problem. Ford Focus mk1s are true future classics with their new edge styling and excellent driving dynamics. Rarely are the offered with such low miles or guaranteed provenance. If you want to attend shows with something easy to live with and that polishes up easily this could be the car for you. Ooms absolutely stunning in the Metropolis metallic blue and the superb condition original alloy wheels have had a quick clean, no refurbishment was needed. One centre cap missing which I will endeavour to source and replace. The radio aerial has somehow become detached during recommissioning but it is still with the car and a replacement or repair will be carried out before sale. Specifics. The steering wheel is as new, no de-lamination and as it was when left factory. The seats are firm, clean and fabric has no tears and have no bolster wear, the only seat that has been sat in is the drivers.
