An exceptional, low-mileage example of the 1978 BMW R80/ 7 airhead. With just 36, 963 miles from new, it retains its original details, presenting a well-cared-for patina. Fully serviced, starts and runs well.
Parts and modifications:
- Brand new Continental tyres fitted recently.
- Hagon shock springs added front and rear for better handling.
- Comes with the original BMW panniers and keys.
- Aftermarket chrome indicators, but the original plastic ones are included in the sale and can easily be put back on.
- Aftermarket bikini fairing, which can also be easily removed if so desired.
Very slight oil leak from the valve pushrod tubes flagged in the last service, but this does not affect the usual running of the engine, it starts and runs incredibly well. Comes with original documentation.
This bike is an absolute joy to ride, with the unmistakable feeling of the classic boxer twins. A bullet proof build quality, and practical touring ability means this bike is incredibly versatile and will have many, many more miles of adventures.
I'm only selling this bike due to having moved abroad, otherwise I would still be riding her!
