For sale is my exceptionally well maintained low-mileage (115k) Land Rover Defender 90 TDCi Puma 2. 4 Soft Top (2009), finished in the ever-stunning Tamar Blue. This is a beautifully presented, heritage-themed Defender that consistently attracts compliments wherever it goes.
The bodywork remains in wonderful condition, with only minor age and character-related marks commensurate with use, none of which detract from its overall appearance. The paintwork retains an excellent depth of gloss and presents extremely well.
Originally a 90 pick-up / light 4x4 utility, the Defender underwent a soft-top conversion last year. All components are in excellent, near-new condition and include a heavy-duty black powder-coated frame, paired with a premium natural sand canvas roof. The canvas is highly versatile, allowing all sides to be rolled up or completely removed if desired. A fixed rear and side window completes the setup and remains clear and unmarked.
The interior has been tastefully upgraded with premium trim items, including a pair of premium comfort seats and an XL premium cubby box, both finished in Camel Tan with a classic fluted design. These seats are extremely comfortable and supportive. A beautiful natural wood steering wheel ties the cabin together perfectly. All interior upgrades are in as-new condition, and the remaining switchgear and upgraded rubber matting (heavy duty acoustic / sound deadened) are equally well preserved, creating a cabin that is always a pleasure to spend time in.
Mechanically, the Defender is in excellent health. It starts promptly every time, with a strong, smooth drivetrain with gear shifts nice and fluent. The clutch has been replaced in recent years with an upgraded LOF clutch/ flywheel / LOF Output shaft and LOF powerspring (providing a lighter clutch pedal). On the road it performs very well, behaving impeccably both around town and at motorway speeds. Electrics function correctly including electric windows and the upgraded BLAM audio speaker system with double din Pioneer Apple/ Android CarPlay / DAB including telephone microphone and covert REVERSE Camera operates as expected and is a superb addition to the Defender.
Further enhancements include a body-coloured Heritage front grille and headlamp surrounds, along with a genuine Land Rover Heritage badge and matching genuine Land Rover mud flaps. The vehicle has a full matching NEW set of five Wolf styled wheels finished in Tamar Blue, all fitted with new Falken Wildpeak M+S all-terrain tyres, including the spare. New locking wheel nuts and wheel nuts have also been fitted. Fixed side running bar steps are installed, as well as a rubber load liner in the rear accessed via original drop down tailgate. The theme is further enhanced by the heritage style galvanised front bumper alongside a protective steering / sump guard. Together, these features create a truly striking and cohesive aesthetic.
Structurally, the chassis, bulkhead and crossmember are all in solid condition. The vehicle chassis has been carefully maintained throughout its life. In recent years Torque GT carried out an extensive chassis protection treatment using a combination of dry ice blasting and Noxudol treatment to ensure the chassis remains well for years to come.
The Defender is supplied with its original jack and tool kit and service book and a staggeringly extensive history file containing a plethora of service invoices from prominent Land Rover specialists, along with past MOT certificates. The MOT is valid until December 2026 and the vehicle was serviced recently approximately 500 miles ago by a Land Rover specialist. There are a staggering array of maintenance receipts and upgrades to this Defender. Other general maintenance covered in the past year has included replacement of all filters (air, fuel, oil) and oils (engine, transmission and brake fluid). Notable additional maintenance includes clutch / flywheel (including upgraded output shaft) replacement, new injectors, new brake calipers/ pads all around including front discs alongside aux drive belts, fuel sender pump and swivel bearings amongst various other general items. This is a clearly well-maintained Defender, reflected in how confidently and smoothly it drives.
Overall, this is a delightful example of a soft-top Defender 90 that offers a truly engaging and enjoyable driving experience, always feeling like an occasion. It is prepared and ready for its next adventure.
