For sale is my utterly charming Itom Astor Sport 3M. This is a running, useable example of this iconic Italian lightweight.
A stylish 50cc Sports moped, built in Sant' Ambrolglio di Torino by Indusria Torinese Meccanica (Itom) in 1963.
3 Speed handlebar twist-shift gear change, all 3 gears selecting as they should.
Full V5C in my name for simple transfer to new owner.
Historic vehicle status, so tax, MOT and LEZ exempt
Original Italian log book confirming this bike's genuine Italian heritage.
This is not a museum piece. It is an active runner which gets used regularly. It has been re-sprayed at some point (quite a long time ago, and I think the Rosso red suits it.
Recent improvements:
Front brake has been re-lined at SAFTEK and works well. Rear brake also fully functional.
Starts readily from cold. Runs well for a 63 year old two stroke (like all such bikes it benefits from being started and run regularly to stop the two -stroke mix settling in the exhaust.
New front brake cable and new throttle cable.
Only done 100 miles or so on new tyres and tubes, so road ready for new owner.
Front and rear lights fully functional, working from a magneto. Working horn (even if it is hilarious!)
Paintwork a bit shabby in places. I've tried to show this honestly in the photos. So the bike offers 'ride as is' with a charming patina, or serves as the basis for a fairly straightforward full 'concourse' restoration if that's what you're looking for.

NB This is a 63 year old machine so as usual, no warranty is given or implied. This is a great opportunity to own and enjoy an increasingly rare, running and useable piece of Italian lightweight history (take a look at Itom's Isle of Man TT record!) Brilliant for lightweight club runs, sunday rides or as part of an Italian lightweight collection. This bike raises so many smiles and waves as I ride around my local town and always gathers an admiring and curious crowd when I park up. I will miss it and am only selling because a shoulder injury (which is unlikely to fully resolve) prevents me from getting much use out of it now.
I'm happy for anyone to view the bike and can suggest a very reliable and reasonable specialist delivery company who know how to take care of old bikes.
