A genuine factory built Left-Hand Drive 300Tdi Defender 110, 9 seater Station Wagon that has been restored with a nod to one of the rarest and most coveted Defender models ever – the North American Specification (NAS) Defender 110.
The vehicle has been overhauled and enhanced with a range of subtle/ stealthy improvements over and above the standard specification but retains the purity of the iconic Defender.
The restoration of this Defender included a strip back to its rolling chassis. The bodywork has been fully overhauled with every single panel professionally painted separately off the truck in Land Rover Chawton White. The chassis is 100% factory original with zero repairs and once cleaned, the factory gloss paintwork finish remained thanks to its former life in a Spanish climate.
The truck retains its period correct 300Tdi engine (Engine number prefix indicates it’s been swapped for a Discovery 300Tdi block at some time) and five speed manual R380 transmission but this truck would be a prime candidate for an LS V8 swap or a Cummins R2. 8 diesel conversion to create that ‘forever’ Defender.

Works carried out as part of the restoration includes the following -
Axles were overhauled with brand new Genuine calipers, rotors, pads, shafts, new sway bar etc.
Steering and suspension fully overhauled with Genuine Parts springs and shocks and bushes.
300Tdi engine has been fitted with new timing belt, timing gears, idler pulley. Water pump, front seal, P gasket, heater plugs, tensioner pulley, hoses, new exhaust system, manifold gaskets. EGR delete and silicone hoses.
All oils changed and filters swapped for Genuine Parts filters.
Later Puma Station Wagon roof fitted with a Genuine Land Rover parts headlining
Later ‘Puma’ all steel front doors installed. Door locks are keyed alike.
Second row doors re-skinned with new outer skins and Genuine Land Rover door trims
Later (improved design) Td5 door hinges fitted to all doors with stainless steel fasteners.
New front wings with new Genuine Land Rover gloss black eyebrows
Body panels resprayed in Chawton White
Heated Windshield
Dark tint glazing (not vinyl film) to all windows except front row door glass.
All seating is brand new Exmoor Trim in XS half-leather trim.
New Exmoor centre cubby box trimmed in XS fabric to match seat mounted on top of MUD sliding cubby locker.
Front seats are the later Puma style seats and heated.
Load area seating has a pair of new two-man Exmoor benches.
New seat-belts to all seats.
Custom carpets in second row footwell and loadbed over rubber matting.
Exmoor one-piece HD Acoustic Matting covering the seatbox and front footwells and transmission tunnel.
Moto-Lita real leather Steering Wheel and billet aluminium Moto-Lita centre cap
DefenderVent side window demist upgrade to add front side window demist feature.
All new lighting including rear North American Specification style lighting with OEM spec LED rear lamps.

Full External NAS style cage (chassis mounted) by Protection and Performance.
MUD Snow cowl colour matched to body.
Custom blank vent on opposite wing is a custom CNC machined piece made by Optimill in billet aluminium.
Five new 285/ 85x16 BFGoodrich M/ Ts mounted onto new Nakatanenga ANR Classic deep-dish 16x8 steel rims. These are a modern tubeless copy of the obsolete ‘1-tonne’ steel wheels fitted to the original NAS110.
Do not confuse this Land Rover with some blown over, blinged to death Defender restoration. There is simply too much subtle detail to list here that went into this restoration including door handles, hoses, internal trim, door seals, mirrors etc, etc using many new Genuine Land Rover Parts. The paint work alone cost £6. 5k.
As more and more ‘classic’ Land Rover parts become obsolete and good secondhand parts become increasingly difficult to source the cost to replicate such a build is always increasing.
Documentation with the truck indicates this Defender was first registered in Spain in Feb 1998 but has a Land Rover build date of November 6th 1997 as authenticated by a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate. The build date exceeds the 25-year US importation ruling so makes it eligible for export to the USA & Canada. The documents confirm this was factory built Station Wagon so would attract the lower import tax bracket for US vehicle importation on passenger cars.
The vehicle was imported into the UK direct from Spain and has never been registered with the DVLA in the UK, hence the reason it carries no UK plates. I have the original Spanish registration documentations. The nature of the project meant it was always destined to be exported to an overseas buyer.
The vehicle is located in West Yorkshire around 1. 45 hrs from the ports of Hull or Liverpool and just 1hr from Manchester airport.
