Here for sale is my 1976 Land Rover Series III.
Purchased at the start of the year with the intention of restoring it ready to be used at my upcoming wedding early next year. With that deadline fast approaching I have decided that now is the best time to sell it so I can buy another vehicle that needs less work.
Genuine reason for sale as without that deadline I would finish the restoration myself.
With the truck still on its original chassis, some repair work was needed. I have welded in a new rear crossmember, rear fuel tank crossmember and front fuel tank outrigger. After that I stripped the whole chassis back to bare metal and then applied buzzweld rust encapsulator and then chassis paint. The inside of the chassis has been protected as well.
I removed a 300tdi from a working Discovery 1 along with fuel filter housing, radiator, intercooler, oil cooler and pipework. New mounts have been welded to the chassis.
A lt77 gearbox from an early defender has been fitted to the 300tdi and I fabricated a custom removable crossmember for the chassis.
I purchased a galvanized bulkhead as the original was rotten, this has been tested fitted.
The truck came on GB parabolic springs, I have since painted these black and have bought new bushes for them.
Taking inspiration from Australia, I have cut down the rear tub to make the cab and load area separate with the plan on making my own custom tray. The chassis hasn't been modified so a standard rear tub can still be fitted.
Under seat fuel tank and rear fuel tank included. I have the changeover tap so a second under seat tank can be fitted as well.
Power steering fitted by the previous owner.
The axles haven't been worked on in my ownership, would benefit from new seals. Being a 109 has the stronger rear axle.
Original seats and beatbox will need work.
Original grill included.
New galvanized bumper ready to be fitted.
New door top and bottoms with capping and hinges.
With this being sold as a project it's priced accordingly, it's currently sat as a bare chassis waiting to be rebuilt from the ground up. All other parts are separate.
Will need a trailer to collect, I can help with loading.
