A fairly original example with only a few subtle and tasteful additions, including red brake calipers, toyo sports back box and a Sony stereo.
The car drives flawlessly and genuinely cannot be faulted. The turbocharged engine is smooth, strong and responsive, clearly showing how well the car has been looked after.
The manual gearbox is sweet, the clutch operates perfectly and the permanent AWD system gives it the planted, capable feel these early Foresters are known for.
Suspension wise, it is fitted with Pedders shock absorbers. The ride quality is superb and genuinely feels like the car is riding on air. There are no knocks, bangs or unwanted noises whatsoever.
The interior is exceptionally clean for a 27 year old car and everything works exactly as it should. All the electrics operate correctly, including the heated seats, heated screens and panoramic sunroof.
The grey heated leather front seats have some age related surface cracking, which is common on heated leather that has actually been used. This could easily be improved with some leather dye, but I have chosen to leave it original. The rear seats are immaculate with no notable blemishes whatsoever.
Overall, the cabin is incredibly tidy, original and a genuinely comfortable place to be.
Bodywork wise, there are a few small age related dents, but no major scrapes or serious marks. The exterior is properly sorted and turns heads simply because of how clean and original it remains.
The wheels are in very good condition and are wrapped in chunky all weather tyres with plenty of tread remaining.
The car has been dry stored for most of its life and that is immediately apparent underneath. The chassis, sills, suspension turrets and underside are all solid. This is a genuinely rot free example, which is becoming increasingly difficult to find on an early Forester.
I always try to describe my cars as openly and thoroughly as possible, but this is one that really needs to be viewed to be fully appreciated.
Clean, original and rot free early Foresters like this are becoming increasingly scarce. You do not come across examples of this quality every day.
