Description

2007 Porsche Cayman S | Lapis Blue | Tan Leather | 87, 213 Miles

£14, 495

A very nice 2007 Porsche Cayman S in the fantastic combination of Lapis Blue Metallic with a tan leather interior, currently showing 87, 213 miles.

I’ve owned the car as an enthusiast and have kept it properly maintained throughout my ownership. The car has an excellent and unusually well-documented history, with 9 service stamps in the service book, a substantial collection of receipts and a detailed spreadsheet documenting the work carried out throughout its history.

Since I’ve owned it, the car has been run on Millers oil.

Factory specification

* Porsche Cayman S 3. 4
* Manual gearbox
* Lapis Blue Metallic
* Tan leather interior
* 19” factory Sport Design wheels
* Factory BOSE sound system
* Factory parking sensors
* Rear wiper
* UK specification
* 87, 213 miles

The Lapis Blue and tan combination really suits the Cayman and gives it a lovely understated, classic Porsche look. The factory 19” Sport Design wheels and BOSE system are particularly nice additions.

Service & maintenance history

The car has 9 service stamps in the service book, supported by a large number of receipts and a detailed spreadsheet I’ve put together showing the car’s maintenance history, including dates, mileage and work carried out.

Earlier servicing was carried out by:

* Porsche Centre West London
* Porsche Centre Bolton
* Porsche Centre Nottingham
* Porsche Centre Leicester

It subsequently received specialist maintenance from PIE Performance, MHG Cambridge and Cavendish Porsche.

There is also a certificate of bore scope check from PIE Performance dated 12 January 2024 at 80, 319 miles.

The certificate confirms that all six cylinders were checked and no signs of excessive scoring/ damage were found on the cylinder liners.

The certificate and supporting paperwork will be available for inspection.

Recent maintenance

There has been considerable expenditure on the car in recent years, including:

* Major service
* Brake fluid change
* Gearbox oil change
* 2x new condensers
* Air-conditioning regas
* 141-point inspection
* Fuel cap seal replacement
* Auxiliary drive belt
* Exhaust flange bolts and gasket
* New rear wiper blade
* New brake light bulb
* Front suspension tuning-fork arm replaced
* New Sachs clutch
* New flywheel
* Rear exhaust trim replaced
* 6x spark plugs and coils
* Near-side front lower suspension/ coffin arm
* 2x new tyres

The clutch and flywheel have been replaced recently, along with the coils, plugs and suspension work, so there aren’t any obvious major jobs being left for the next owner.

The car has continued to be maintained rather than simply run.

Condition

The Cayman drives very well and is mechanically in good order.

I’m also keen to be completely upfront about its cosmetic condition. The only issue I’m currently aware of is the headlining, which has sagged following the recent hot weather. I’ve secured it using spiral tacks. It is perfectly usable, but it isn’t being disguised or presented as perfect, and photographs will show it clearly. The interior is in good condition.

There are inevitably some age-related marks as you’d expect from a 19-year-old car. This is not a concours example. It is an enthusiast-owned Porsche that has been properly maintained and enjoyed.

Why am I selling?

Unfortunately, my wife was right.

Three children and a two-seat sports car don’t really work.

I’ve really enjoyed owning the Cayman and this is not a sale due to any mechanical problem. It’s simply become increasingly difficult to justify a two-seat car when we have three children.

So, reluctantly, the Cayman needs to find a new home.

In summary

A very nice 987 Cayman S, with the desirable 3. 4-litre engine, manual gearbox, Lapis Blue Metallic paint, tan leather, factory 19” Sport Design wheels and factory BOSE.

Add to that 9 service stamps, numerous receipts, a comprehensive maintenance spreadsheet, Porsche Centre history and a documented 2024 bore-scope inspection of all six cylinders, together with significant recent expenditure on the clutch, flywheel, suspension, coils, plugs and servicing.

I’m in no rush to sell and would much rather find the right enthusiast than simply sell the car to the first person who turns up.

Viewing and inspection are welcome. I’m happy for a prospective buyer to arrange an independent inspection or bring along a Porsche specialist.
