1999 Alfa Romeo Spider 2. 0 TS. Overall in very good condition, long MOT, rust free and full service history. 3 owners.
I purchased the car in June this year as a second car to enjoy for summers to come. The car had been rarely used for about 10 years prior, but had been MOTd to maintain it during this time. I’ve got it back on the road where it has been a pleasure to own and drive, but sadly I will not be able to use it as much as I’d hoped in the future, so it is time for someone else to enjoy it.
Within my ownership, I have fixed the electric roof, repaired the radio, and fixed a misfire issue. Since then, the car has been faultless, and recently completed a mini road trip to the north of England and back with no issues.
The car starts and runs great, drives very well and the engine is very rev happy. It handles very well and is overall a very fun car to drive, especially with the roof down.
Exterior wise, the paintwork is good, but considering the car is almost 30 years old there are imperfections. There is a scuff mark on the right side of the front bumper, a scratch on each side skirt and a small scratch near the fuel cap. It’s the sort of car that looks incredible from 10 feet away but shows it’s age a bit when you look closely. The electric roof also works on the button, and has no leaks.
The interior is brilliant, the Momo leather seats are immaculate, and the tailored carpet set is almost flawless. It could probably do with a vacuum though.
Mechanically the car is excellent. As mentioned the engine runs great, it has no leaks, gets up to temperature nicely and doesn’t overheat. The car has been under sealed so there is almost zero rust, minus the odd spot of surface rust to be expected on a car of this age. It has been garaged almost it’s entire life, so the underside is an excellent condition, more like a 10 year old car than an almost 30 year old one.
There are some drawbacks; as mentioned the paintwork isn’t perfect, and additionally the brakes would probably need doing within the next few MOTs. The tyres, despite being in good condition, are also quite old, so I’ve adjusted the price to make up for this. The radio screen is also damaged, although the radio remains operational.
The car comes with 3 keys, V5C, full service history and paperwork of pretty much all work ever done to it, the original owners manual and associated documents, and original tool kit.
