Gina starts reliably and drives nicely once warmed through. We have used her for camping trips both in the UK and abroad including Northern Spain. Like many classic air-cooled VWs she is happiest cruising at relaxed classic VW speeds. As expected for a 50-year-old camper there are some cosmetic dents, scratches and paint imperfections and she leaves the occasional small oil drip like most air-cooled campers. This is not a concours van or modern turnkey camper, but a very solid and usable classic VW with huge character which has been loved, maintained and improved whilst we had her.
Sale includes workshop manuals together with photographs documenting engine and structural work. Gina no longer gets used as much as she once did. Looking for someone who will continue to enjoy and care for her.
We bought Orangina 25 years ago. My husband lovingly made it his own, designing and creating the interior and improving it over the years. We have had great adventures in it, first just the two of us travelling within the UK and across to Spain. And eventually with our twin girls. We made two extra removable beds, one on the front seat and the other a hammock across the back and they absolutely loved it.
It has been a real pleasure to travel in and has given us lots of joy. There is nothing more special than waking up next to a lake and sipping a lovely hot cup of tea or closing the curtains at night feeling really cosy in bed, even if it is raining outside.
We are all very sad to have to sell Orangina and we will always remember her fondly but we don't use her as much and she needs a new owner that will take her on new adventures.
