A well cared-for and largely original Jaguar XK8 4. 0 V8 Coupé, finished in Pearlescent Green with tan leather and showing approximately 96, 000 miles.
I have owned the car for 11 years, having bought it from Castle Motors in Liskeard. It has had just two former owners before me.
The car was dry stored for approximately seven years and has recently been properly recommissioned, serviced and MOT’d so that it is ready to use and enjoy again.
One of the most significant pieces of work carried out during my ownership was the professional reconditioning of the automatic gearbox in August 2021. I have the invoice for this work, and the car has covered only around 1, 000 miles since the gearbox rebuild.
I have retained the invoices and paperwork covering my 11 years of ownership. The previous owner was meticulous about maintaining the car and advised me that it had a full service history, although unfortunately the earlier service paperwork was subsequently lost. I therefore cannot advertise it as having a complete documented service history, but I do have a good record of the work carried out during my ownership.
The car is in good condition for its age and mileage and has been a well-loved member of the family. The Pearlescent Green paintwork and tan leather make for a particularly attractive and traditional Jaguar colour combination, and the original XK8 shape still has tremendous presence.
The 4. 0-litre V8 is smooth and refined and makes the car a very enjoyable grand tourer. It is not being presented as a concours or ultra-low-mileage example, but as an honest, attractive and properly sorted XK8 that can now be enjoyed rather than recommissioned.

This has been a much-loved car and is only being offered for sale because I am considering putting the funds towards other projects.
I’d use “considering putting the funds towards other projects” rather than saying you need the money for building work. It explains why a long-term owner is selling without giving a buyer the impression that you’re under pressure to accept a low offer.

What I particularly like about it is the combination of the Pearlescent Green paintwork and tan leather interior. It suits the shape of the XK8 perfectly and gives the car a very traditional Jaguar feel.
