1978 Chevrolet Corvette C3 – L82 V8 – 4 Speed Manual – 25th Anniversary
1978 Chevrolet Corvette C3 25th Anniversary with a particularly desirable combination of L82 350ci V8, 4-speed manual gearbox and removable glass T-tops.

The L82 was the higher-performance 5. 7-litre V8 offered in the 1978 Corvette, with higher compression, upgraded heads/ cam and 220hp compared with 185hp for the standard L48.
This car came to me after having spent several years in storage and I've spent a considerable amount of time recommissioning it and getting everything working properly. I've since covered a few hundred miles in it and it's now a genuinely usable, great-driving C3.
Work carried out includes: new alternator, new front brake calipers, brake fluid flush/ bleed, engine oil & filter, coolant, carburettor/ choke setup, headlight vacuum relays and actuator, various electrical repairs, replacement weather seals and a properly welded repair to the passenger floor reinforcement.
The vacuum headlights now work correctly, as do the electric windows, heater controls and original clock.
The air-conditioning is not operational. The original system remains in place but would need recommissioning/ updating if you wanted working A/ C.
Mechanically it drives extremely well. The L82 V8 runs nicely, the 4-speed manual gearbox changes beautifully, brakes are excellent and it happily keeps up with modern traffic. The General Grabber tyres and wheels also really suit it.
Inside is a light-coloured interior with a decent upgraded speaker system, although the head unit itself is older and doesn't have Bluetooth.
Cosmetically I'd call it a good 7/ 10 driver's car. It presents extremely well and is a real head-turner, but it isn't concours. There are some scratches/ blemishes and areas of micro-blistering in the paint, which I've tried to show honestly in the photos/ video.
That's really the appeal of it: it's a C3 you can actually use rather than something you're frightened to take out of the garage.
