Description
This is an original UK scooter, registered in Taunton, Somerset in 1956 with only 2 owners from new. This scooter retains it's original reg number and log book but now has the latest V5c. The engine and frame numbers are in accordance with the log book.
I bought the scooter in 2001 from Weston-super-Mare scooters who obtained it from the original owner. I have fully restored the scooter, all parts shot blasted and resprayed or rechromed, retaining as many original parts as possible only fitting new as necessary. The engine was rebuilt by Howard Chambers. Only 300 miles has been covered since the restoration so is still in excellent condition.
I bought this scooter for the challenge of it's restoration having owned an Ld as my first bike for work as an aircraft engineering apprentice. It was bought new by a local man as transport for work but was in poor shape when I purchased. This is not the fastest form of transport but certainly retains the elegance of 1950s Italy. A video of the engine running is available, also many photos of all stages of the restoration. In addition a number of workshop manuals, toolkit and some minor spares will be provided.
