1971 VeloSoleX 3800 – UK registered – running
Attractive blue VeloSoleX 3800, UK registered as JYY 556J and currently on SORN. I bought it in Milan in 2000 from a gentleman who had owned it from nearly new but had been unable to use it because of multiple sclerosis. It was exceptionally little used when acquired.
It remains in presentable, largely original condition and is in running order. There are age-related marks and some minor corrosion, as shown in the photographs, and the tyres would sensibly be replaced before regular road use. Supplied with V5C. A charming and very usable example with an interesting history.
I bought this bike in Turin 25 years ago from a man who had developed MS and could not ride it. It was in our French house until 2006 . It has hardly ever been used either by him or me. It has been used a couple of times per year for short trips. 5 years ago I gave it to my daughter who has not used it much either.
