Description
1994 Toyota Hilux – Custom Retro Toyota Livery
Very reluctant sale of my 1994 Toyota Hilux. A really solid, great-looking example with a custom retro Toyota-inspired paint scheme that suits the truck perfectly.
Diesel – Manual gearbox – 216, 833 miles.
It’s an extremely solid vehicle with no rot whatsoever and is very clean underneath and around the body for a Hilux of this age. There are a few age-related marks as you’d expect from a 32-year-old truck, but overall it presents incredibly well.
Mechanically it has been brilliant. It starts, runs and drives exactly as it should and genuinely doesn’t miss a beat.

It gets attention absolutely everywhere it goes and has loads of character without being a tired old work truck its not had a hard life which shows. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to find older Hilux's that haven't been worked to death or suffered badly with rust, and this one is exceptionally solid.
There are a few small age-related imperfections and I'm happy to point everything out to a serious buyer, but it is a genuinely lovely, usable example.
One fault to mention: the tailgate currently doesn't open. I pulled the handle too hard and broke the mechanism inside. I've left it as-is rather than bodging a repair, and with a newborn I simply haven't had the time to get around to sorting it.
We've recently had a newborn, so unfortunately I now need something larger and more practical with more doors. Otherwise I'd be keeping it. It's a very reluctant sale as I've loved owning the truck.
