Description
Genuine WWII Royal Enfield WD/ CO 350 OHV. Registered as an historic vehicle with V5C in my name. Registration is LWL714 and Frame Number 10999. Despatched from the factory on February 19th 1944, destination Chilwell military depot.
After the war was over (like most WWII bikes) it was transferred into civilian use and I have the original buff Logbook which shows :-
Date of original registration 31st December 1946 in Oxford. Looks like it was sold by King's Motors in Oxford
Then Notting Hill London in July 1947
Then September 1947 - Ash Vale Surrey
Then back to King's Motors Oxford in 1949
Then 24th September North Lyth in Wick
Then 13th October also North Lyth Wick
Then undated to Bower Tower Wick
Petrol Ration book stamps from Caithness up until 31st December 1958
The bike had been dry stored for many years but was in rather a poor state having been (badly) painted green and black at some stage. I decided to restore it and put it back to military colours.
I've done a lot of work to it including professional full Magdynamo rebuild, new tyres and tubes, top end rebuild, cables wiring harness, rubbers, controls, etc etc. Its still on 6v and I've hidden a battery and voltage regulator inside the toolbox.
It starts and runs perfectly and I've ridden it to a couple of events this year where it was greatly admired.
Comes with a few spares including an original pillion saddle. Buyer may wish to add battery box etc and fully convert back to original... its always nice to have to have something to tweak.
It's still on a standard bore and both piston and barrel are in great shape so I suspect it has not seen too much use. It is a tiny bit smokey so might benefit from new piston rings at some stage. Bottom end and gearbox both seem in great condition and clutch works fine.
All in all its a lovely piece of military history which deserved to be enjoyed and taken to WW2 events by an enthusiast.
I think its reasonably priced for its condition so if it doesnt sell just now I'll keep it until spring next year.
Any questions dont hesitate to ask
The outstanding thing about this bike is its genuine military history and the fact that it played a part in WWII. Brodie Helmet included with sale.
