Description
1997 R reg Lexus GS300 Sport, 135k, MOT 30/ 04/ 2027.
I have owned this car since April 2024, used for occasional trips to car shows and venues, only doing about 1500 miles per year. I’m an enthusiast, and have owned many cars, this is the second GS300 Sport I’ve owned.
The decision to sell is due to a home extension. I could do with the funds and the space, although not willing to give it away.
It is in good condition for the age, and I keep the car covered between use at the height of winter. Always driven with mechanical sympathy.
There is a significant amount of service history, a stamped service book up to 101k miles, with bills and receipts throughout its life.
During my ownership I have done the following:
05/ 2024 – 2 new front tyres, Uniroyal Rainsport 5’s .
05/ 2024 – New Yuasa battery fitted.
05/ 2024 – I replaced and greased the front caliper slide pins, left and right.
06/ 2024 – Brake Fluid change.
09/ 2024 – I replaced the sunroof glass because the previous one got cracked by a stone. Only the glass panel was replaced from another GS300, but I also still have a spare sunroof mechanism as they came together. The original mechanism is in full working order.
04/ 2025 – 2 new rear tyres, Nankang AS2+, as I couldn’t find matching Uniroyal Rainsport 5’s in the correct size.
04/ 2026 – I replaced and greased the rear caliper slide pins, left and right.
06/ 2026 – I rebuilt the o/ s/ r brake caliper, new piston and seals (I have the piston and seals for the near side rear, if the need should arise).
08/ 2026 – I performed an oil, oil filter (both ordered from Lexus) and air filter change (aftermarket as a Toyota one was on backorder with no indication of arrival after several weeks).
10/ 2026 - replaced both front anti rollbar links.
I applied red rubber grease to all door, window, boot and sunroof seals a couple of years ago, to restore and preserve them.
It has the staggered TTE wheels in good condition, refurbished under previous ownership. Full size spare TTE wheel in the boot.
Also, there is a receipt from Lexus for a timing belt and tensioner kit in 2021, and plenty of other invoices going back throughout the car’s history.
Owners manual, service schedule and delivery book pack present.
I love these cars, but needs must and it’s time to regretfully let it go. If it wasn’t for the home extension, my plan was to keep it and maybe turn it into a twin turbo Toyota Aristo equivalent, mating it to a modern 8 speed ZF (Garage Whifbitz does these conversions), but keep it looking as it does externally.
At other times I don’t have the heart to change it all as it’s a reliable, comfortable cruiser.
There’s one key, the remote fob doesn’t work and I can’t get it to pair up (I have tried the reset procedure as per the Lexus Owners Club website). This may be due to the car having been in storage for some time before my ownership.
Gas struts for the boot want replacing.
I could do with it gone before the road tax is due at the end of October, as I’d rather it was out of the way before building work starts. As stated before, I’m not going to give it away, but sensible offers will be welcome.
V5C present and in my name.
Thank you for looking.
