Description
For sale is my 1955 Volvo PV445 pickup truck. £13, 000 (open to offers)
I obtained this truck in june of last year, with the intentions of it being my company truck. However due to complications unrelated to the truck itself i am unable to carry this out so i have decided to sell it.
The truck is a Volvo PV445 that has been converted into a pickup truck with a Volvo B20 engine running it.
As of current it runs but will be difficult to start if left to sit (as it has for a couple months). This is a result of wear to the spark distributor being abit worn and the contacts corroding slightly. This being the case it is best to bring a trailer and or tow it from its current location. To avoid any issues getting it home.
I have purchased a replacement spark distributor that foregoes the need for the contact points by being electronicly controlled and can be tuned via your phone, i however have been unable to install this myself as of yet. It can run now if the contacts are cleaned with sandpaper but will run nicer with newer distributor, which will be included
(I will update the post if i have since installed it).
Other then the hiccup of the distributor cap it runs fairly well as can be seen in the video that was taken by the previous owner.
It is also largely rust free, as far as i am able to find, the most rust ive managed to find is on the crome parts (on the wing mirrors, small amounts on the rear fender and the air filter) and maybe other small spots, but no structural rust as far as i have been able to find.
As a result of these slight issues and the new spark distributor not having been installed yet i am open to offers.
My price is based on the values shown by the classic car valuers website(linked below)as a guide as it is showcased there and was for sale there previously at a similar price.
Said listing has details of the conversion from its original appearance to its current pickup truck configuration. I dont know the full picture of how it was converted as the previous owner had purchased it as a pickup truck himself.
This being said i am happy to answer as many questions regarding the truck as i am able.
So message me if you're interested in purchasing. Apologies if i have missed anything.
Many thanks, Sawyer.
Below i have copied the description from the previous owner that details works done to the vehicle to get to where it is today. As mentioned in the vehicle information there is a new spark distributor that is ready to be installed. Aside from this i have done no work to the vehicle since purchasing it as it has been kept in a warehouse for the time being.
2, 000cc. This Volvo PV445 Pick-Up has been owned by the vendor's family since 2017. Some works have already been undertaken including 6v to 12v, suspension with Volvo 140 axles back and front, 2. 0 litre engine installed, dual circuit and servo assisted brakes and replacement fuel tank. In addition it has been fitted with a new buck when the chassis was painted whilst the cab was off, new seat covers and mirrors. This project was displayed at the Practical Classics Restoration Show at the NEC in 2021 and now requires further works to complete. First registered in Sweden and then registered in the UK in 2005 when it was converted to right-hand drive. Described by the vendor as driving well.
