For sale is my 1998 Mercedes C250td Esprit estate - It is fitted with the much coveted om605 turbo diesel engine and 5 speed auto box.
The MOT is to March 2027.
It has been my daily driver, covering a 300 mile weekly commute through the Lincolnshire Wolds, it starts the second the key is turned in all weathers and I'd trust it to get you wherever it is you are going. However, it is a project with the following known issues:
Central locking has a vacuum leak.
The fuel tank interconnect isn't working as it should, meaning it runs out of fuel at half a tank rather than zero.
The boost hose between the EGR and the hardpipe running on top of the engine is split - I've ordered this twice and received the wrong one each time.
The headlining is sagging.
On the positive side, in the last 1k miles it has had new:
Front upper arms and ball joints X2
Tyres X3
Front shock absorbers x2
Front and rear brake pads
aux belt tensioner and damper assembly
Air and fuel filter
Heater blower motor and resister
Door speakers X4
Centre armrest re trimmed
The interior is in a blue and black cloth trim with the black pillars and light headliner is similar to Sport specification but specific to Esprit.
Body condition is typical W202 with crusty front wings at the edges and the door bottoms starting similarly but are by no means rotton. The underside has seen some welding as per the MOT history, something to keep on top of.
It has quite a chunk of service history from the past ten years or so.
