Description
Offering for sale my 225xe hybrid tourer after just under two years of ownership. Purchased from Hurst Used Direct in Newtownabbey in December 2024, trading in my previous car, a Mercedes c220d AMG line. Due to a recent increase in long journeys from one end of Ulster to another on Sundays for lay preaching engagements, I wish to return to a Mercedes diesel or similar. The BMW 225xe hybrid is more suited to short journeys, as original online reviews confirm. MOT is valid until September 2027; recent fail on broken rear coil spring; subsequently replaced and retested successfully. Car has been very reliable with only a few minor issues detailed below in service history description (please read full description). Specification includes panoramic tilt and slide sunroof, comfort pack with electric and heated front seats with driver’s memory function, part real / synthetic leather sport seats; electric adjustment includes side bolster and lumbar adjustment; heated steering wheel, cabin pre-conditioning via I-drive and remote app, dual zone climate control, DAB/ Bluetooth; sat nav, LED headlights, AWD provided by petrol engine at front and electric motor at rear; various drive modes include max e-drive, battery save (self charges as well as holding charge- handy if no public charger available), sport mode (self charges in sport also). Full M-sport trim includes badging, spoilers and sport suspension etc. Car has been a pleasure to drive but practicality dictates the desire to go back to a diesel for long distance cruising.
Condition overall very good with paintwork showing a fresh shine; a few blemishes are detailed below in description; interior also in excellent condition with only very slight wear on leather and no rips or tears in bolsters.
Work carried out during my ownership:
09/ 25: Oil, filter, air filter, spark plugs and brake fluid replaced by JKC BMW
11/ 25: Front brake discs, pads and rear pads replaced with wear sensors by myself
07/ 26: Windscreen washer pump replaced by myself
08/ 26: Rear left coil spring replaced by Bells of Crossgar (Peugeot dealer)
Disclosure of minor issues: intermittent drivetrain warning has appeared twice during my ownership but has disappeared each time after less than a day without any incident or affect to driving. My diagnostic machine read as follows: “ Intermittent: Exhaust camshaft sensor not plausible.” I did not clear the fault as the car cleared itself.
Also PDC fault recently appeared- traced to faulty front left corner parking sensor- have switched off in settings to remove constant warning sound (still beeps briefly on startup).
Also please see very minor scuff marks and small crack in tail light and rear bumper on left side (not deep- and no water ingress to tail light lens) small ding above rear right side wheel arch, and light kerb scrapes on alloy wheels.
