Description
Two Laverda’s for the price of one !
Both up together in good working order & ridden regularly
The Jota is a matching numbers 180 series 2 from 1980 complete with a Slater factory dating certificate, was re registered in 2016 after a failed attempt to export to Canada.
As with all series 2 models it has the larger but more compact ND alternator and the timing pickups on the primary case, it has rubber mounted carbs and a hydraulic clutch, rear sets, and the longer grab rail , as it should, it is my understanding that it’s unrestored and un modified apart from the filler which has at some stage been changed for an alloy quick filler and has a German electronic ignition unit , the paint work is by no means mint as you might expect from a 45yr old , could be restored, but I prefer its original honest condition.
The 3CL is a 1978 1000 built from parts left over from a number of projects
The engine is a standard low compression, with A11 cams it has the later spec rubber mounted carbs and a German electronic ignition unit
Not matching numbers essentially a standard frame modified to accept a single sided swing arm and wheel using a bespoke Hagon single shock.
Seat unit and subframe is 1990s Laverda 668 sport
Jota stainless steel exhausts & Rear sets
The front end is Triumph trophy forks & twin pot callipers and discs
All works nicely and rides very well on up to date wider rubber !
