I wanted a car that worked as well from the back seat as from behind the wheel. The Ghost Extended was the obvious choice. It drives beautifully, but the extra length turns the rear into a proper lounge. Midnight Sapphire with Seashell and Navy is understated and elegant, and it never looks flashy.
Why it stands out
Most Ghosts are ordered with a handful of options. This one has nearly £90, 000 of them, including the most expensive choices on the list. It has the Shooting Star headliner, the illuminated fascia, the Indulge bespoke clock and Serenity rear seats, plus the full rear theatre set-up with picnic tables. You won’t find many on the used market specified like this, and you’d struggle to replicate it today without a long wait and a much bigger bill.
What makes it unique
It’s the detail. Navy Blue piping and stitching run through the cabin, RR monograms are embroidered on every headrest, and the Walnut Burr extends onto the steering wheel spokes. Nothing on it was left at default, and it feels like a car someone thought carefully about rather than one picked from a dealer’s stock.
My favourite thing about it
Sitting in the back at night with the Shooting Star headliner on is something else entirely. The cabin is completely silent and the starlight drifts across the fascia, and every journey feels like an occasion. The way it wafts along the motorway. The V12 is barely audible, and you arrive after a 200-mile drive feeling like you’ve hardly travelled.
