A genuinely exceptional, ultra-low-mileage Vauxhall Nova Spin that I’ve decided to offer for sale.
This car was previously sold by Stone Cold Classics and is an incredibly original example. When they acquired the car it was essentially untouched and still retained many of its original factory components.
The Nova was originally supplied by Leedhams York in 1993. It spent a large part of its life stored and had covered approximately 2, 500 miles by 2012. When Stone Cold Classics later sold it, the mileage was only around 3, 200 miles.
To make the car safe and properly roadworthy, Stone Cold Classics replaced a number of age-related/ service items. Therefore, although the car itself remains remarkably original, it no longer has items such as its original tyres.
Work carried out included:
• Falken tyres
• Timing belt
• Shock absorbers
• Fuel pump
• Fuel filter
• Oil filter and engine oil
• Brake fluid
• Rear silencer
The important thing is that these parts were changed because of age and roadworthiness, rather than because the car had been heavily used or modified.
The bodywork, interior, engine bay and underside show just how little use this Nova has had. It still has the wonderfully basic original Spin specification including wind-up windows, no power steering, manual aerial and original cassette player.
The interior is particularly impressive and feels like stepping back into the early 1990s. The body is also exceptionally clean, without the usual faded red paint and deterioration associated with many surviving Novas.
This isn’t a restored or modified Nova made to look nice — it is a genuine, extremely low-mileage survivor that has been preserved for over 30 years.
These cars are becoming increasingly difficult to find in genuinely original condition, particularly examples with this sort of mileage and documented history.
Also included with the car is a correct, brand new genuine Vauxhall rear silencer.
Genuine new Vauxhall shock absorbers are also still available to purchase online, should the next owner wish to return the car even closer to its original factory specification.
