Description
Nissan Sunny GTI (143PS) in original condition and very good shape. Up to date on maintenance and fault-free. Fully repainted a year and a half ago, and since then cared for with great attention. If you're after an original car, up to date on everything and in very good condition, this is your car. I'm the third owner, I have the DGT report, everything above board. It has had plenty of preventive maintenance, including: - rocker cover gasket - gearbox output seal - water pump - drive belt - 2 suspension wishbones (with all ball joints) - 4 shock absorbers - steering track rod ends - AC converted to modern gas - window rubbers replaced - interior upholstery cleaned - tracking/ wheel alignment - radio and speakers (branded) - retrimmed steering wheel - radiator hose replaced - new radiator - antifreeze - oil changed 6k ago (doesn't use a drop)
The story of my Nissan Sunny GTI N14. Love at first sight with the SR20DE. Ever since I can remember, this model has caught my eye. At a time when most sporty compacts followed a very similar look, the Sunny GTI stood out for its own personality: the distinctive touch of its large rear spoiler, how rarely you see them on our roads and, above all, the engine under the bonnet: the legendary SR20DE. The origin and the fettling. I bought this car from a mechanic who had kept it stored for several years. The base was excellent and it retained its 100% original condition, but it needed work, time and love to shine again as it did in its best days. From the first minute, the goal was clear: keep it as original as possible and strictly respect its period look, while bringing the mechanicals and comfort up to an impeccable standard. The first thing I did was a full respray. From there, I got stuck into the fettling. Engine and cooling: being a 1992 car with no factory catalytic converter, it keeps the most direct and pure response of the SR20DE engine. The engine received a new rocker cover gasket (taking the chance to paint it an elegant black), new drive belts, oil and a new gearbox output seal. The cooling system was completely redone: new radiator, new hoses, new water pump, a thorough circuit flush and fresh antifreeze. Chassis and running gear: two new suspension wishbones with all new ball joints were fitted, along with new steering track rod ends, and a wheel alignment (tracking) was carried out to keep the handling precise and firm. Comfort and cabin: the air conditioning was converted to modern gas and recharged. The window rubbers were replaced, the steering wheel was re-covered keeping the original line, and all the upholstery received a deep clean. For sound, a retro-styled radio with modern technology (hands-free) was fitted, along with four new high-quality speakers. A time capsule. Today the car retains all its interior and exterior plastics in perfect condition, its original upholstery without tears, and a truly exceptional detail: it still has its original factory windscreen. To round off the project and safeguard its future, I registered it as a Historic Vehicle, protecting the value of one of the purest, most honest and well-kept examples of this GTI left.
