Description
- HUSQVARNA ( Hoosk-var-na) WR 450cc "Desert Master". Extremely rare.
Attempting to find the ultimate desert racer, Husqvarna set out for this goal. With development rider and top-flight pilot, the famous Californian desert racer Malcolm Smith, he worked with the factory. By winning races, he helped perfect the machines for enduro, motocross and high-speed desert racing!!! With each victory from the Mint 400 to the Baja 1000.
- As their name indicates, they were built to run in the great deserts of southern California, which is why they were equipped with a larger tank (Four Gallons). The 456 cm3 engine produced 46 hp, more than enough for this Husqvarna, with 21/ 18 wheels and tyres to let you traverse sandy terrain.
- With a lack of power and rather sketchy handling as well as a high price for the time, the bike did not sell as well as hoped. Consequently only a few units were produced, which has proven to be of interest today, highly sought after and sold at a high price.
- Our Husqvarna WR is in ++ original condition, mechanically everything seems to work, given that the seller, of this "Private Collection, personal museum" has owned these motorcycles for display for over 10 years. Of course this one has not seen sand or terrain for a few years!!!
(* Anticipate intervention to get it running).
