Description
Extremely rare Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow LWB long version with electric split, delivered on 4 May 1972 by the famous London dealer Jack Barclay to its first owner, an eminent London doctor who had his own chauffeur. 6 times fewer Shadows were produced in the long version than in the standard version, and of these, only a hundred or so with split. In 1972, they cost the equivalent of the average price of 2 houses when new! The Silver Wraith II succeeded this model in 1977 with the arrival of the Shadow II, losing its elegant chrome bumpers in the process. The vehicle has covered 87150 miles and comes from an estate, the last owner, who died 18 months ago, had an eminent collection of around 15 Rolls, and had kept our example for 13 years, while the previous owner had kept it for 14 years.
The paintwork is ivory and very nice, tight and without dents; the black vinyl roof is in very good condition, the contrast is undoubtedly very elegant, the chromes are very good, both the bumpers and the grille. Very nice alignment of the body parts, working electrics. 2 original Radiomobile radios, 1 Philips K7 radio from the 70s. To the rear of the driver's divider there is a shelf, the original radio independent of the driver's radio, 1 slot for newspapers, magazines and documents and another slot to hold flutes or cocktail glasses. Cream leather upholstery in very good condition overall with just a little patina on the front seats but no tears. The engine runs perfectly, is almost silent, waterproof and is nervous. The clock works. Recent major general overhaul with servicing (including spark plugs and belts) by a specialist of the make for 5000 euros, with also the woodwork in burr walnut redone by a craftsman who trained at the Crewe factory to a very nice effect. The car is sound and corrosion-free. Recently repatriated from the UK for 200 km with masterly handling. Delivered with its owner's manual (in French on request), its factory manufacturing file, its recent invoice for various works, its tool kit and its jack. Delivered in English, so for France, allow 5. 5% import VAT on the invoice amount to be agreed together. Visible by appointment in Mouscron, on the French-Belgian border near Tourcoing and 20 minutes from Lille. Transport possible throughout mainland France by specialised carrier at cost price. Curious please. English spoken.
