Description
Land Rover 88 (short wheelbase) Series IIA from 1971. Diesel engine 2. 3L. This is the first year of Series II when the headlights, which were set into the middle of the grille, recessed, move definitively onto the wings. Externally, apart from the hinges of the three doors and the metal grille, the car is now identical to Series III. Inside, the superb all-metal dashboard and a handsome Land Rover badge steering wheel with the Santana star.
Three individual front seats and two rear benches facing each other. Registration document 7 seats (3/ 7): three seats plus cargo area or seven seated.
Safari roof / parabolic springs, lighter and more supple, and an interesting option: the Overdrive, an extra lever that allows 10 to 12 km/ h more in each gear. So there are 4 short gears, 4 normal gears and 4 intermediate or long gears. The flat bonnet has the original setup to mount the spare wheel on it. Another interesting accessory: release hubs. Front brakes fitted with discs. You can spot a very handy blue sun visor, original, on the driver's side.
Tires in very good condition / Injectors serviced / chassis sound, the car is original and has never been repainted; it has benefited from the dry climate of Andalusia.
This Land Rover, with Spanish plates, still on site in Andalusia, will be emptied for a check and a favourable technical inspection.
It’s an interesting model (Series II is becoming rare), with useful options and accessories. The roof and sides come off, the top of the three doors, so you can fit a tarpaulin and hoops.
