The MGA is in our view the most beautiful MG design ever conceived. The design dates back to 1951, when MG designer Syd Enever created a sleek body for an MG TD Le Mans car.
As the successor to the MG TF, the MGA was introduced in 1955 as “the first of a new line”, featuring an elegant, modern and highly attractive body, a comfortable ride and excellent handling.
The MGA was a great success for MG, not only commercially but also in rally and race competitions. Three MGA prototypes were entered for the 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans. Two of the cars finished the race in 12th and 17th place overall, proving the value of the new car.
In the United States, the MGA won numerous regional and national championships in Sports Car Club of America events, and the MGA raced in NASCAR from 1960 to 1963.
You may not have those sporting ambitions, but it is always nice to know the pedigree and capabilities of the classic sports car you are going to enjoy on the finest roads you can find! This magnificent MGA 1500 roadster is ready to be enjoyed to the fullest.
