I am selling this 1954 Renault 4CV (model year 1955), which I have just completed a full restoration on.
The previous owner had already redone the full body paint in 2022, in the original Renault shade from 1954: Pastel Grey 658.
Normal registration document, in my name
MOT valid until 2027
Mileage:
45, 735 km shown (5-digit odometer)
Given the condition of the running gear before restoration, the real mileage is estimated at 145, 735 km.
The car is in strictly original condition:
- 6-volt electrical system
- Engine 662-2, paired with its 3-speed gearbox
- Front seats original, in exceptional condition (kept under cover)
- Rear bench still under cover
- Headlining redone, as well as door panels and rear deck
- Underside fully sanded and treated with anti-grain coating
- All front suspension/ brake components sandblasted and repainted
- Vehicle equipped with its original heating system
* Over €4, 000 in invoices for the restoration
* The complete file (invoices + photos) will be handed to the buyer.
Main new parts and works performed:
- Braking fully rebuilt (new master cylinder, wheel cylinder piston kits, hoses, brake shoes, drums machined)
- Engine rebuilt (662-2) – around 2, 600 km since:
new bore/ piston kit, head tested, crankshaft replaced by one from a Dauphine engine (conversion to bearing-type rods), new bearings, new seals, stainless steel valve-seat cooling tube
- Fuel system new (restored fuel tank, new hoses, new fuel pump)
- Ignition redone (new voltage regulator, alternator rebuilt, new battery)
- All bulbs new
- All silent blocks new (engine mounts, anti-roll bar, front suspension…)
- Gearbox overhauled, fitted with new seals
- Bumpers, grille, and rocker panels new in stainless
- All window, windscreen and rear window seals new
- Carburation redone (ultrasonic cleaning, jets and seals new)
I have invested a lot and enjoyed restoring this superb 4CV. I drive it every weekend, but I’m selling it to fund the restoration of a new classic car.
