The Appeal

Hand-finished by Mercedes-Benz’ Sindelfingen coachworks and 75% more expensive than its saloon sibling, the W180 II 220S was something quite special, even when new. Today it is one of the firm’s most desirable classics, its handsome body lines as appealing as its carefully detailed four seater interior.
The 220S gained mildly altered aesthetic over the original 220A but it was under the bonnet where extra power provided the real difference. Just 2,178 of these cars left the factory from August 1957 and here we have a particularly delightful example.
Classically finished in black with sumptuous burgundy leather interior, it is an older restoration and an original Dutch-registered car. In very good condition it looks ready for any inspection.

  • Interior fittings well presented with no visible omissions or damage
  • Strip speedo with clear decals and shrouds
