The Attractions

One of the most famous protagonists of the Microcar Revolution - and considered by many to be one of the best of them all - the Goggomobil was built in good numbers by Hans Glas of Dingolfing over a period of 14 years. While the name sounded pleasant and amusing to English ears, it was decidedly less pleasant to French motorists. Consequently, many export examples were named 'Isard'.

Don't be fooled, though - this is a Goggomobil in its own right. The Goggomobil TS 2+2 coupé was presented at the IFMA show in 1957, available in 250, 300 and 400 variants - the different abbreviations indicated the car's engine capacity. Intended as higher-end models, even today these tiny and beautiful cars are still very attractive.

Formerly belonging to the famous collection of the Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum in Madison, Georgia, this Isard was sold in 2013 with other vehicles from the museum. Since then it has received extensive restoration and repainting, and has returned to live much closer to its places of origin - today it enjoys the sunny Italian climate, and is visibly maintained with great care and love.
