The Appeal

Sitting proudly amongst the most legendary American cars in history, the Ford Mustang is not just enduring - it's perhaps one of the most famous vehicles in history. From its whopping great powerplants to that ever-iconic styling, the new Pony cars excelled in providing drivers with a truly remarkable, high-octane experience.

Arguably the best-looking Mustang was the Fastback, with its sinuous lines - a car developed in secret by Gale Haldeman, cast in fibreglass and presented to Ford's assistant manager. Reportedly it took little more than a glance for Lee Lacocca to say 'We've gotta do it'.

With the desirable 289ci V8 engine, 4bbl carburettor and 4-speed manual gearbox, this Mustang is a simply superb spec for this early stage of the car's development, and offers a very exciting prospect for any enthusiast. This Mustang has been restored in Spain, preserving its original charm. With its historical registration, this car is ready for immediate transfer, making it a straightforward addition to any classic car collection.

History and Paperwork

  • Built in 1965
  • Imported to Spain a few years ago
  • Restored in Spain
  • Historically registered and ready for immediate transfer
  • Owned by a friend of the vendor, currently housed in their facilities for viewing and test drives
  • Currently indicates 07,066 miles on a five-figure odometer

Imported and restored a few years ago, this fabulous Mustang doesn't have much in the way of paperwork but is historically registered. Its recent years in the warm Spanish climate have no doubt kept the car in good order. We'd expect the mileage to indicate the car has been around the clock, though we can't verify this to be the case.

The Condition

  • In good general condition due to its thorough restoration
  • Bodywork and paintwork in fine order
  • No sign of any dents or dings
  • The wheels are nicely kept and shod in Goodrich tyres
  • Internally, the car is in good order
  • Some signs of paint loss here and there, though it's relatively minor
  • Dashboard is in good clean order with the original instruments
  • Wood-trimmed steering wheel in good order
  • Seats are free of any rips or tears
  • Right-hand door card is somewhat loose and poorly hung

Everything in this Mustang is in fine fettle, with the sporty cabin and Burgundy paintwork all on proud display. The fastback bodywork really is something to behold, and all looks very complete. If this car's marvellous condition isn't charming you, we'd be surprised. The prospect of owning a Mustang is bound to get anybody's attention - but this one in particular will get enthusiasts very excited.

The Mechanics

  • Powered by the 289ci (4.7L) Small-Block V8 engine
  • 4bbl carburetor
  • 4-speed manual gearbox
  • Engine bay in good condition
  • Standard to the car's factory spec
  • Regularly serviced and maintained

Loaded with the desirable 4.7L Small-Block, this Mustang carries a desirable V8 that made the car legendary right out of the gate. Offering an impressive 271hp, the car will offer an exciting experience behind the wheel - and is beautifully presented inside and out. This American classic is ready and waiting to hit the road with its new owner.
