The Appeal

Think British motoring icons and likely they’ll be E-Type or MGB shaped. None are as numerous or so instantly recognisable as the van that got Britain working: the Transit.
It all started here with vans like this, the humble Mk1. Channeling Transatlantic styling cues with a simple, workmanlike heart that was thoroughly British, survivors are very rare. This one stands out.
Finished in light blue with white roof, it is a matching number 2litre V4 that is largely original. The minor modifications include side windows.  Inside there is a cooker and sink. It is registered with the DVLA as a motor caravan so could be evolved in that direction or enjoyed as it is. Alternatively, it would make a stand-out commercial load lugger and is usefully ULEZ exempt for city use.
It presents very well and with its comfy Volvo seats, likely making it considerably more relaxing to drive then when it was new. The original seats are included if you want to return the originality.
Whether enjoyed as a distinctive commercial vehicle or developed as a camper, this lovely Transit is both rare and fascinating.
