1972 Volkswagen Beach Buggy 1600

***Vendor supplied images***

Highlights

  • Offered with a current Spanish ITV technical inspection
  • Interesting bodywork - unlike the usual Meyers Manx-style buggies
  • The vendor informs us that it’s great fun to drive

The Appeal

An icon of the “swinging sixties”, and pioneered by Californian engineer Bruce Meyers, the beach buggy took the then-ubiquitous Volkswagen Beetle and turned it into a fun off-road toy, perfect for driving on sand. There have been numerous subsequent interpretations of the beach buggy, most adhering loosely to Meyers’ original design although this one is a little different.
The vendor informs us that this buggy was built in Europe, utilising the underpinnings of a 1600 Beetle. It’s in very good condition for its age and comes with a valid ITV technical inspection. The vendor reports that it runs beautifully and is great fun to drive. Don’t miss this great opportunity to acquire a classic you’re bound to enjoy.
