The Appeal
The third and last car in the E-Type lineage was intended as a grand tourer. A V12 engine was fitted for the first time, and most were mated to automatic gearboxes. That's where this Primrose Yellow Open Two Seater differs, sporting a four-speed manual box. UK-supplied E-Types in this specification are rare, and our example has the added distinction of just one former registered keeper.
The first owner is believed to have been a former RAF pilot who served during the Battle of Britain, purchasing the E-Type as a gift to himself in later years. The odometer shows circa 41,000 miles, which is believed to be genuine and supported by a letter from the current registered keeper.
Having been in dry storage since approximately 2012, the car will require recommissioning before regular use. It starts, moves and stops, though mechanical and cosmetic attention will be needed as outlined below. _88A0879.jpg9.92 MB
