The Appeal
The third generation of America’s sports car ushered in a style that, in its way, was as iconic as England’s own sports car, the E-Type. From its shark nose, past its sculptural flanks to its Kamm tail, the C3 was an instant design classic.
The convertible broadened the car’s appeal but was phased out in 1975 due to impending safety regulation changes. These last drop tops could be specified with auto or manual gearboxes and range of V8s.
This ‘75 ‘Vette convertible is one of the last open top C3s built. It combines a torquey L48 350CI (5.7litre) V8 with a desirable 4spd manual box. It is a Canadian car that arrived in Czechia in 2020. The bodywork, beautifully finished in dark blue metallic, was restored five years ago and there is a recently retrimmed black interior. The result is a car in very good order with appealing specification that is ready to rumble and burble into the summer.
