The Appeal
Citroen’s history is so populated with some design greats like the Traction Avant, DS and CX that some of its equally illustrious cars often don’t quite get the credit they deserve. Case in point is the aerodynamic and technologically advanced GS.
Beautifully designed by Robert Opron in a truly groundbreaking fastback style, the GS channelled typically intelligent Citroën thinking, notably the flat-four engine and brilliant suspension, into a car for ‘everyman.’ The GS was the four-door, chrome-bumper version, built to 1980 when the five-door GSA arrived.
This 1200 is therefore one of the last GS cars to have been built. As a Pallas, it has a raft of enhanced fittings, including extra chromework and a plush brown fabric interior. Finished in burnt orange, it is a really handsome car in good condition for a car of this age, particularly a GS.
With many original features, this very presentable Pallas represents a real find for fans of the double chevron.
