  • One owner since its first registration in 1983

The Plus

The Volkswagen Golf GTI is the quintessential compact sports car of a bygone era. It is the representative of the GTI phenomenon, quite simply a legend. Towards the end of production of the Golf 1, Volkswagen created several special editions equipped with the 1.8-litre engine, including this French version, the 'GTI Plus'. The latter was also known as the 'Pirelli' in Germany, the UK and other European markets. The 'GTI Plus' was offered only in France and was a top-of-the-range version of the GTI, making it better equipped with Pirelli wheels, while retaining the 112 bhp 1.8-litre engine and five-speed gearbox.

This car, which has only had one owner since leaving the factory, is entirely original and has been stored in a garage since it left the factory. Despite signs of advanced age, it retains all the charm of the 80s and continues to offer a raw and authentic driving experience that is hard to find today. An excellent restoration project for the discerning collector.

This is one of the most desirable versions, as it is a genuine "GTI Plus" E-chassis, the very last examples to leave the factory, as confirmed by the manufacturer's label with references 171 G34 (Plus Series/Pirelli) and 9A (E-chassis 5-speed gearbox).
