The Appeal
Bridging the gap between the range-topping 928 and the entry-level 924, the 944 is considered by many to represent the sweet spot in Porsche’s classic front-engined lineup. Sales would support this assertion too, as the 944 became the firm’s most commercially successful sports car until the Boxster came along.
Today, an increasing number of enthusiasts are recognising just how good these cars were to drive, and unlike most vehicles of its age, you could actually live with a 944 day-to-day. This 1988 example has undergone the calibre of work these cars deserve, as the vendor has spent in excess of £30,000 since they acquired their 944 in July 2020. As a result, it’s in fine order both mechanically and cosmetically, making this a fantastic opportunity for Porsche fans looking for a well-sorted example.
The 944 has been taking a break over the winter and the MOT expired in September 2023, however the vendor informs us the car will come with a fresh MOT once sold. Now that the nights are longer and the salt is washed from the roads, it’s a great time to add this 944 to your garage.

Underneath, all appears sound and clean
The interior is very original and well-preserved
There’s some wear to the upholstery - especially the driver’s seat, although it remains eminently usable
