The appeal
The first-generation Mazda MX-5 NA is one of the most celebrated sports cars of the modern era. It has, after all, put the legendary roadster formula back into the spotlight—and in spectacular fashion. It’s a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive roadster that reignited the spirit of simple, pure, fun driving. Found finished in “Classic Red” with a black interior, this 1991 example wears the near-indistinguishable look of the model.
This car has had just two registered owners since new and has been with the current seller since 2008, when it was acquired with just under 100,000 km showing. Over the following 18 years, it has been used daily and serviced on time by the Mazda dealership in Bayonne, while remaining entirely original. A fault-free MOT/technically inspection valid until November 2026 accompanies the car.
Elegant, healthy and ready for its next owner, here’s a well-documented, straight, proper-spec MX-5 NA. A selection of assorted accessory items and finishing supplies are included in the sale.20260709_141023 Philippe Marcou.jpg6.1 MB

This sale is subject to Car & Classic’s general terms and conditions. By bidding and/or making an offer, you also agree to the following:
✓ The seller is registered as a private seller, meaning that consumer rights arising from European consumer protection legislation do not apply. However, you are still covered by Car & Classic’s general terms and conditions.
✓ We ask that non-refundable fees are paid if you’re the successful bidder at auction or if your offer is accepted. Please refer to our FAQs and general terms and conditions for the specific rates.
✓ This vehicle is “sold as-is”, on a “as is, where is” basis, and without any warranty. Photos and descriptions are provided for guidance only and it’s standard practice to carry out a full inspection of the vehicle prior to purchase for your own peace of mind.
✓ VAT is included within the buyer’s deposit. VAT may or may not be included in the final price of your offer or bid, as specified in the listing.
✓ We want the transaction to run smoothly, just like you do, and that’s why UK-registered cars and motorcycles listed on Car & Classic are subject to an HPI check to verify that they have no insurance-database markers for damage or theft, and that they are not subject to any financial charge—so you can bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off following a total loss claim at the time the listing is placed on Car & Classic and we provide category write-off labels (Cat C/D/S/N) to help you. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status, and it is always worth carrying out a full vehicle history check before making an offer.
✓ Buyers are responsible for the collection or delivery of the vehicle. Importing vehicles can result in additional customs duties and import taxes. If you’d like, we can recommend a third-party transport company that can help. For more details and to speak with the team, email auctions@carandclassic.com.
