The Plus
Renault's Clio Williams is widely regarded as one of the best compact sports cars of all time. But there's another Clio Mk1 that aficionados consider a very close rival.
This is the simply named 16S - known as the 16V outside France - on which Williams based its famous car. The 16S was almost as fast - 135bhp compared to the Williams' 145bhp - and featured the same wide arches and bonnet gills. The suspension and brakes were also strengthened, and the interior was decidedly sporty.
These light, fun-to-drive cars are now rare finds, especially in the freshly restored condition of this one. The bodywork has been extensively restored and repainted to a high standard of craftsmanship. With its original, unmodified interior, this is a very rare opportunity to acquire a 16S where all the work has already been done beforehand.
