The 40 Jahr has a special place in the hearts of 911 enthusiasts. And with good reason: it was built to celebrate a special anniversary: 40 years of the 911.
Appropriately, production was limited to 1,963 units. Taking the Carrera as its starting point, each one got some choice enhancements from the 996 options cupboard: X51 power upgrade, M030 suspension and Turbo aesthetics. For many, the 40 Jahr is the ultimate usable 996.
This low mileage 40 Jahr, car number 735, has spent most of its life in salt-free Japan, which likely accounts for the remarkable condition. The sparing use has also no doubt played a big part. It is pleasingly factory standard and ideal as a collector’s piece.
