The Attractions
Audi's sleek Q7 is appreciated by many enthusiasts, but we're sure this very special model is less well known. This is because it is one of the very rare Q7s equipped with the 6-litre V12 TDI engine. This is a truly fast SUV: its Quattro drive system and DSG gearbox help to unload an impressive 500 hp of power and 1000 Nm of torque onto the tarmac.
The Q7 V12 was designed to capitalise on the technology developed for Audi's R10 diesel racing car. Audi was keen to emphasise that it was the Q7 with the best road-holding produced up to that time, thanks to revised suspension, tyres and brakes. They were sophisticated but extremely expensive cars, with a luxurious Audi Exclusive interior and very comprehensive equipment.
On the outside, this car looks very similar to any other 2009 Q7, not least because of the removal of the identification badges and the sober black metallic paint. Inside, its special nature is more evident, thanks to Cartier red leather upholstery and refined details such as grey Alcantara headlining with red stitching and carbon fibre trim. It is a very well maintained car both inside and out, true to its original specification in every detail, right down to the original seven-spoke wheels.
This Q7 shows little evidence of the miles it has accumulated over the years and few signs of use, a testament to its high build quality and the care with which it has been maintained. We are told that it has been driven mostly on motorways. The seller also informed us that it has been regularly serviced and is in good condition, with no known defects to report.
For those who want the practicality and discretion of an SUV and the exciting performance of a supercar, this really does seem the ideal car.
