The Appeal
Born in the wake of Ford's successes in the world rally championship and produced since 2009, the Ford Focus RS MK2 has received substantial mechanical and aesthetic improvements over the more mundane versions of the popular hatchback.
The most important innovation was the new engine, a powerful 2,522 cc five-cylinder turbo with variable valve timing, intercooler, special pistons, forged cylinders and redesigned camshaft, connecting rods and intake and exhaust system, capable of delivering 305 hp.
To handle all this exuberant power, the Focus RS was equipped with an advanced limited-slip mechanical self-locking differential, specific suspension and an improved braking system.
On the outside, the front was made more aggressive by a larger bumper with spoiler and ample air intake and two additional air intakes on the bonnet, while a large wing was mounted at the rear. The side view, with the peculiar front air intakes and flared fenders, further highlighted the special qualities of this car.
The interior has been carefully crafted to match the exterior appearance, with special Recaro sports seats, aluminium gear knob and pedals, and three additional dials for boost pressure, oil temperature and oil pressure.
Originally sold on the German market and now in Italy, this Focus RS is extremely attractive in its iconic Ultimate Green colour with contrasting white alloys.
The seller informs us that this car is in really good condition both on the outside, where the paintwork shows only marginal defects consistent with age and highlighted in the photo gallery, and on the inside, which shows no notable signs of wear and is richly equipped, with Recaro sports seats with RS logo and infotainment system with satellite navigation.
