The Appeal
Until the 458 Spider the challenge of how to incorporate modern folding hardtop technology into a Ferrari supercar always eluded the firm. Any solution added weight.
With the 458 they solved the problem. The world’s first mid-rear engine car with a folding hard top, it somehow managed to incorporate this technology in a mechanism that was 25kg lighter than the Spider soft top it replaced.
That innovation meant the Spider retained all the lightweight, agile and brutally quick qualities of its coupe counterpart.
Combining classic Rosso Scuderia paintwork with a Rosso Ferrari leather interior, this well maintained 458 Spider is in superb condition. It demonstrates every inch of why these cars are so revered by collectors and looks ready to reward the buyer.

The F136 naturally aspirated V8 under the rear of the 458 is a peach of an engine, offering up smooth, sinuous performance to the tune of 560bhp. Normally a convertible would blunt that performance by adding weight but Ferrari’s engineers cleverly avoided that pitfall. Consequently the Spider retains the lightweight ethos of the car and matches the coupe for performance.
