The Appeal
Since Ford has pulled the plug on the Fiesta, it’s very unlikely we’ll see a small, fast petrol-powered Ford as good as the ST200 any time soon. Developed as a limited-edition run of 400 cars, it proved such a hit that 1,600 were sold worldwide. Today it is rated as one of the greatest hot hatches ever built.
The ST200 got Ford’s Ecoboost 1.6L turbocharged ‘TiVCT’ engine that was good for 197bhp, with 15bhp available on overboost. The suspension was revised over the ST and the gearing shortened. Perhaps no surprise then that this car’s duo of keepers have treated it as a future collector-car from new. It has covered less than 600 miles and is in extremely good condition. The vendor describes it ‘as new.’
The car is standard save for a small spoiler and skirt kit. The vendor tells us that it was stored in an air chamber by the previous keeper, who sold it in 2025 to the vendor. We are told the car was annually serviced, with the last service in August 2025. The MOT runs to August 2026 with no advisories.
Any Fast Ford is likely a nailed-on future classic, but the ST200 particularly so. This car would make a fine addition to any enthusiast’s collection.
The vendor says:
“I’ve decided to sell my complete collection. Please treat this car as NEW, smells new.”
