Highlights
- Renovated with patinated look for use on the stage
- Recently featured at the National Theatre
- Mostly complete and partly restored
- Interesting project with lots of useful parts
The Appeal
This Model A evokes a certain era in American history, a Depression procession of early Fords rolling across the Rust Belt in search of work. It’s a deliberate impression because it was specially built to appear on stage in the National Theatre’s recent production of John Steinbeck’s classic American novel, The Grapes of Wrath.
The patinated bodywork and spartan interior are all careful creations of the production’s design team. The result is a highly characterful Model A that also benefits from some recent parts to areas less visible to the audience such as the suspension and engine.
This pick-up is largely complete - there is an engine, gearbox and running gear - but will need some attention to complete (there are no floors, for example). If you intend to put it on the road it will also need DVLA registration. Whichever direction you decide to take this, it represents an interesting and notable historic project.
