The Appeal

Land Rover debuted its 109" model in mid-1956 - its longest wheelbase yet and therefore a practical addition to the range. The company would continue using the wheelbase until the advent of the 110 in 1983.

This 1958 example is a late Series I that was originally exported to Australia in right-hand drive. It returned to British shores in 2019, and having been authenticated by the Series One Club, it was acquired by the current owner in 2020. The Land Rover has since benefited from careful maintenance and sympathetic improvements while retaining its original character.
The Series I strikes a good balance between originality and usability, featuring its factory-fitted engine and gearbox alongside thoughtful modifications like the adjustable hood hoops for easier garage storage. With comprehensive mechanical refurbishment and attention to detail throughout, this Series One offers the authentic Land Rover experience with improved reliability for regular enjoyment.
